This is a beautiful heath in the Longdown enclosure in the New Forest. The landscape here is just gorgeous at this time of year. I appreciate I may have taken a bit of artistic license with the Heather colour, but the pink ground just seemed to work without further work!! I hope you agree. Knowing when to stop is all part of the process…..

This little piece was completed in the studio from a sketch and photos made a couple of years ago, just after the most fantastic birthday seafood platter lunch @beachhousedevon @southmiltonsands near Kingsbridge (courtesy of my incredible and long suffering girlfriend).It’s literally only a little shack on the cliff top, but I can, hand on heart say it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in the most wonderful company.

This is the view back east from it too, so pretty special all round. Pleasantly surprised that I was able to produce something constructive from it as the wine may have flowed…..( it was my birthday!)

Winter sunsets are just the best aren't they? The last of the day in late January, on the beach where I spent my childhood. The dying sunlight reflecting off the fronts of the huts and the lamp glass before they turn on. Golden and magical.

Painted on the beach at Hengistbury Head at the beginning of October as the light and sun cool. This place has a certain kind of unique magical hazy ight which I hope I've captured.
